Sheldon Jack Smith, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Florida in 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sara and Barney Smith, sisters Berte Sacks and Ronita Engelman, brother Seymour Smith and his godson Steven Engelman. He served in the U.S. Army 1954-1958. He began his career as a technical writer with a subsidiary of Harris Corporation. Shelly was a financial planner with A.G. Edwards & Sons for 28 years. He was an avid and die hard bridge player. Shelly could also be spotted routing on the Mets and Giants with a Nathan’s hotdog in hand. He is survived by his wife Gloria of 57 years, son Irwin, daughter Amy Nazinitsky and son Stuart. He was the proud grandfather of Daniel, Robert and Andrew Nazinitsky and granddaughter Eden Smith. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to American Cancer Society, Hospice of Palm Beach County or the charity of your choice.
