Silbert Bennett Sawyer

Silbert Bennett Sawyer age 74 of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas passed away peacefully on July 13, 2013 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County Good Samaritan Unit. Silbert was born on December 29, 1938 in Cherokee Sound, Abaco Bahamas to the late Mr. Dennis Sawyer and the late Mrs. Mildred Sawyer. Silbert was a Bahamas Customs Superintendent for forty three years prior to his retirement. He was a hardworking family man always giving and selfless to those whom knew and loved him. One of Silbert's fond interest was in Horticulture; whereby using his knowledge of plants, he was able to propagate various genus and species of Palm Trees and Exotic Plants both native and alien to the Bahamas. Silbert will be remembered for his quiet and reserved demeanor, gentle ways with a serious nature that kept his world balanced and in focus. A man of a few words, but no fewer words carried a clearer message. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his loving and devoted wife of fifty four years, Esther (nee Beryl) Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, his five loved children and their spouses, Perry and Lisa Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, Faron and Claudia Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, Jay and Janice Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, Dawn and Kent Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, and Claude and Londa Sawyer of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas; and his seven treasured grandchildren and one precious great granddaughter. Services will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Bible Truth Hall in Marsh Harbour, Abaco Bahamas, (242) 367-2579 with burial and committal services following in the Memorial Gardens of Marsha Harbour, Abaco Bahamas.
