

Steve passed away at age 86 on Thursday, March 22, 2012 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the son of Vassilis and Mitrodora Pikounis of Greece. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evangelia; son Vassilis Bill Pikounis and daughter-in-law Nicole Sakowitz; daughter Anna Paine and son-in-law Jim Paine; and daughter Dora Kino. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Ari, Talia, and Elana Pikounis, Jack and Nicholas Corson, and Tucker and Lily Kino. Steve is also survived by his brother Angelo and sister-in-law Persa, sister Elly (husband Souly deceased), and six nieces and grandnieces. He is also beloved by his wife’s family all residing in Greece: sister-in-law Iordana and brother-in-law Nikos (deceased), brother-in-law John and sister-in-law Theodora, brother-in-law Gregori and sister-in-law Despina, sister-in-law Maria and brother-in-law Nasos (deceased), and an endless number of nieces and nephews. Favorite cousins include Mary and Bill Koutrelakos and their family in Maryland.
Steve emigrated to the United States from Greece in 1947, and served in the Army. After residencies on the West Coast he settled in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1958. His favorite pastime was salt-water fishing. He enjoyed a career of service, working in Palm Beach restaurants.
A viewing is scheduled from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, March 26 at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mizell Faville Zern Funeral Home. Funeral Services are being held privately.
