March 11, 1934 – September 6, 2026
Victoriana Puntiel, affectionately known to all who loved her as Caona (also called Vicky), passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 92.
Victoriana was born on March 11, 1934, in El Mamey, La Vega, Dominican Republic. In 1970 she moved to Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where she made her home for two decades, before relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida, around 1991, where she remained for the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Mercedes Puntiel, who passed away many years ago.
Victoriana is survived by her two daughters, Maria (Sonia) Puntiel and Maria (Lumi) Vasquez, and by the grandchildren she helped raise: Julio, Jennifer, and Max (children of Sonia), and Masiel, Ezekiel, and Carlos (children of Lumi). She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
Known lovingly as “the boss,” Victoriana was a woman of remarkable strength and courage. She devoted her life to cooking for and caring for the people she loved, and she personally cared for each of her grandchildren when they were small. Her heart and her smile had a way of touching every soul she encountered. She had a deep love for music and singing, and that joy filled every home she built for her family.
Victoriana's legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Rest in peace, Caona. Your family loves you always.
