Virginia Gregory Whetsell

Virginia Gregory Whetsell, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on December 24, 2024. A long-time Palm Beach County resident, Virginia came here from Maryville, TN with her husband Charles in 1960. Here they owned and operated Whetsell Landscape Maintenance.

Virginia was born in 1943 in Maryville, TN, to Wiley and Mary Ellen Gregory. She can trace her roots to Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. Virginia, also a Real Estate Broker for many years, was a member of Suncoast Church of Christ, formerly 10th Avenue Church of Christ.

Virginia leaves behind a legacy of family…her son and daughter-in-law Greg and Karen Whetsell, daughter Lisa Whetsell Brackett, granddaughters Savannah Whetsell, Reagan Brackett, Bailey Brackett-Montmarquette and her husband, JP Montmarquette. She is also survived by her siblings: brothers, Sherill Gregory, Leroy Gregory and his wife Judy, along with her sister, Wynona Gregory Bowman and her husband, Jim Bowman. In addition to her immediate family, Virginia is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Ohio.

While flowers are always nice, Virginia was always about helping others. A donation to Feeding South Florida in her name would be a lovely alternative. Services will be held locally on January 10th at the Suncoast Church of Christ - 5561 Hypoluxo Road Lake Worth, FL 33463: 6:30 PM Visitation, 7:00 PM Service. Burial will be the following weekend in Maryville, Tennessee.
