William Joseph Moncrief, 67, passed away on June 18, 2018 in Palm Beach. Bill was born in Jamaica, NY and graduated from Delehanty High School, Class of 1969. He enlisted in the United States Air Force specializing in Radio Relay Equipment Repair. Bill received the National Defense Medal for joining during war time and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for serving overseas, among others. He was Honorably Discharged in 1974 before moving to South Miami. Bill graduated from the University of Miami in 1980 with a B.A. in Business. He joined the Miami Metro-Dade Fire Department were Bill began his 26 year career as a Fireman and EMS Paramedic and earned his Captains Shield. Bill also owned and operated Preview Services, a surveying company. Before retiring he worked as an RN with the American Red Cross, where he continued to volunteer after retirement. Bill saved countless lives in Miami-Dade and has affected many people with his passion for helping others. During his retirement he flew to the Philippines several times buying food and clothing for those in need. While he was there he would play with the local children and gave them candy.
Bill loved the ocean, the sunshine and having a good laugh. He enjoyed playing poker and golf. Bill supported local artists and appreciated fine art. He had a huge heart and loved his family very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister; Denise Grambs.
Bill is survived by daughters; Aliki Moncrief (Jason Flom) and Vanessa Rose (James) grandchildren; Aliki Valdes, Loukia Rose, Pandora Flom, Lliam Rose, and Kalliope Flom; sister, Kathleen Rossiter; brother, Thomas J. Moncrief; nephews, Stephan Fogleson, Fred Grambs; niece, Heather Grambs; grand nephews; Noah and Benjamin.
