Elizabeth Boewe

Elizabeth was born May 9, 1936 in Evansville, Indiana to John and Mary (Broster) Ridens. She married Darrell Walker, and he preceded her in death in 1963. She married Marion Boewe in August of 1967 at the Marion Christian Church, and he preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a graduate of the Lockyear Business College. She worked as secretary to the Vice-President of Champion Laboratories in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She later returned to work at Champion, and retired after several years. Her hobbies included ceramics and sewing, and she was a member of the Moravian Church, and served as church secretary following her retirement. She loved her grandchildren very much, and enjoyed attending every sporting event in which they participated.

She is survived by two daughters: Michele (Danny) Iverson of Ellery, Illinois and Dawn Deshotel of DeRidder, Louisiana; three sons: Darby (Tanya) Boewe, Mike Boewe, and Shawn Boewe, all of West Salem, Illinois; one step-son, Larry (Ginger) Boewe of West Salem, Illinois; two step-daughters: Kay (Tom) Moore of West Salem, Illinois and Rose (Don) Fielden of Fairfield, Illinois; one sister, Linda (Gene) Wise of Decatur, Illinois; one brother, John (Pam) Ridens of Fort Branch, Indiana; 32 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bill Hasewinkle. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one grandson, Zef Hanson; one sister, Betty Green; and an infant brother, Michael Wayne Ridens.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 24 at 3 p.m. at the Moravian Church in West Salem. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Moravian Cemetery. Friends and family are encouraged to dress casually due to the extreme weather.
