He was born on March 26, 1934 in West Salem to Goldie Irene (Knust) and Fred “Fritz” William Feldman. He was inducted into the Air Force as an Airman 1st Class at the end of WWII; however did not go into combat. He was a proud Veteran.
Hap graduated college with a Bachelors’ Degree in Education and spent two years teaching in Spearfish, SD then two years teaching at Edwards County High School.
On June 3, 1966 he married Carolyn Ruth Nunn in Odessa, TX and then spent the balance of his 32 year teaching career at West Salem Grade School.
He was a member of the West Salem Masonic Lodge #866 and considered is Masonic brothers his family.
Hap also enjoyed sports and coaching ball and was inducted into the Edwards County Sports Hall of Fame. He thoroughly enjoyed his coaching career, especially teaching young athletes.
He was a great husband, father and grandpa and will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Roy and Jimmy.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, two sons: Micheal Feldman and Todd Feldman, all of West Salem, grandsons: Dalton Feldman of Jacksonville, IL and Austin Feldman of West Salem.
He is also survived by one aunt, Frances Bowen of Parkersburg, IL.
Funeral service for Harold “Hap” Feldman will be conducted by the West Salem Masonic Lodge #866 at 2Pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Ingram Funeral Home, West Salem, IL.
Burial will follow at the Moravian Cemeter with Military Rites.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
His family requests that memorials may be made to the West Salem Masonic Lodge #866 Building Fund.
Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem is entrusted with the arrangements.
