During my tenure as chaplain at The United Methodist Village, I always enjoyed his sermons when he preached during our Saturday evening services. They were solidly grounded in God's Word. He also was very kind in sharing advice to younger ministers, helping us to grow in our calling.

Dear loved ones, I am so sad to learn of Harrell's passing. When I received his note and book in September of 2017, I had no idea that would be the last correspondence we would have. However, I look forward to seeing him and you, his family, in the earth made new. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this cold, bleak beginning to the New Year. God be with you all. -- Juanita Walston Neal and family (Walla Walla, Washington)
