Lucille Smith Morris

Lucille was born in Bennington, IL on October 19, 1922 to Earl and Alvena (Miller) Brown. Lucille married Malcolm Smith in 1942 and he preceded her in death. She married Claude Morris in 1969 and he, too preceded her in death.

She was also preceded by her parents and one grandson, Anthony Root.

Lucille was a cook at the West Salem Grade School for 21 years. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking, quilting and was also a care giver.

She will be missed and fondly remembered by her daughter, Barbara (Jim) Root of Bone Gap, IL, two sons: Gary (Patty) Smith of Albion, IL and Bill (Kim) Smith of Evansville, IN, five grandchildren: Sonya Vallette, Michael Smith, Cody Smith, Jesse Smith and Theresa Reid and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Moravian Church, West Salem, IL.

Funeral will take place at 11AM at the church and burial will follow at the Moravian Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in memory of Lucille are encouraged to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois or the Moravian Church.
