

Mary Ann made her debut in this world on March 8, 1956 in Los Angeles, CA, born to Mary Margaret (Diel) and Floyd Knakmuhs.
Mary Ann attended college, earning her degree in social work and counseling and had worked at the South Eastern Counseling Service as a substance abuse counselor. She was an actress and enjoyed performing on stages across the United States and here in the area she called home. Her family will remember her as the one who could make everyone laugh and feel better about themselves, no matter the situation. Mary Ann enjoyed having a good time and wanted those around her to, also. She was also proud to be a Moravian.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bruce Wayne Knakmuhs.
She will be missed and memories of her will be cherished by her daughter; Naomi (and fiancé Brandon Harris) of West Salem, IL, sister; Cynthia Bristow (Burt) of Harrisburg, IL and one grandson; Gage Lee Harris. She also leaves a dear friend and care-giver; Lisa McKinney of Olney, IL and Lisa’s children; Allen, Eleana, and Machala.
It was Mary Ann’s desire for cremation rites to be accorded, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Moravian Church in West Salem, IL. Inurnment of cremains will follow at the Moravian Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Moravian Church in her memory.
