Philip Joseph "Joe" Potter

Joe was born on September 29, 1957 in Kankakee, IL to Mary Ann (Marx) and Philip Richard Potter.

Joe completed his studies and earned the four-year Forestry Degree from Southern Illinois University.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem. He never met a stranger and was always ready to help anyone who needed help. He was simply a good guy. The joy of his life was his daughters, and he was a wonderful father.

He will be missed by his two daughters, Cambria and Cinderella Potter, of West Salem. Joe was also survived by three aunts: Ellen Marx of Morris, IL, Jane Potter Gates of Albion, IL and Carole (LeRoy) Biehl of Urbana, IL, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3PM, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, IL, with Pastor Alice True officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2PM until service time at 3PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Potter girls, Cambria and Cinderella.
