Walter Lee Haner

Walter was born on November 18, 1947 in Madisonville, KY to Walter and Faye (Tohill) Haner.

He married Diane Seibert on February 4, 1978 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Mt. Carmel, IL and they made their home on the farm in Berryville.

He was a veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. Walter was a fiber optic technician for the Sprint Telephone Company. He was engaged in farming, and was also a real estate broker, who sold properties for Sherer Real Estate. Walter thoroughly enjoyed communicating through ham radio, loved music and horse back riding.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents , his mother and father in law, Marianne and Stanley Seibert, and one brother in law, Michael Seibert.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Haner of Berryville, IL daughters, Christina Haner of Allendale, IL and Savanna Haner of Berryville, IL, sons, Morgan Haner of Chicago, IL, Bill (Jeana) Haner and John (Julie) Haner, all of Golconda, IL, a sister, Susie (Ernie) Lang of Bartonsville, IL and Bill and John’s mother, Jennifer Haner of Golconda, IL. Walter is also survived by three grandchildren: Ashlyn, Jake and Jax.

Funeral service for Walter Lee Haner will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, IL. followed by military honors, which will be given outside the funeral home, following dismissal of the service.

Visitation will be held from 1PM to the service time at 2PM.
