Alicia Emilia Stasiak

April 13, 1951- September 22, 2014

Words cannot begin to express our deepest sorrow

as we announce Alicia’s passing in the Palliative Care

Unit at LGH after a courageous two year battle with

biliary duct cancer. She will be deeply missed by her

loving husband Ferdinand, daughters Nadine and

Monika along with her son Austen and daughter-inlaw

Magda with baby grand-daughter Alina. She is

survived by sister Barbara, brother Waldy, nephews

Mark, Christopher and Christian, niece Kristina, and

aunts Regina and Helena. She is pre predeceased

by her father Marian, mother Irena Karpinski and

uncle Henry. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina,

Alicia moved to Montreal at the age of seven but

for the last 22 years, she raised her family in North

Vancouver. To all those who knew her, she will be

remembered f o r her warmth, a big heart

complementing a sweet and endearing smile.

A special thank you to Drs. Charles Scudamore,

Andrew Buczkowski, Hagen Kennecke, Anis Lakha

and all those wonderful, compassionate nurses who

provided such good care during her long illness.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Hollyburn

Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver,

B.C. Saturday on November 1, 2014 at 1:30 PM.
