Mrs. Ann Shirley Bachellerie

April 12, 1936February 16, 2021

BACHELLERIE, Ann Shirley April 12, 1936 - February 16, 2021 Ann Shirley Bachellerie, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 84 on February 16, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband Jean-Pierre, daughter Chantal (Theo), son Jean-Paul (Michelle), granddaughter Isabella, sister Joan (Keith) and extended family in England and France. Ann was an artist who embraced the joys of life by travelling the world, socializing with family and friends, and dancing the night away at Annabelle’s at the Four Seasons. She was a lover of literature and prolific with watercolour, silk painting and acrylics. After an inspired trip to California, Ann resigned from her position at the Financial Post and opened Caprice, a popular downtown Vancouver sandwich shop. She later joined her husband in running their restaurants, Bogart’s and Jean-Pierre’s. Ann’s well-known love of animals prompted family and friends to affectionately refer to her as Dr. Doolittle. She never met a dog, cat, bird or squirrel that didn’t somehow end up as part of the family. While we miss her deeply, we are comforted in knowing that she had a tremendous life. While we are unable to hold a memorial at this time, the family will host a celebration of life once COVID restrictions are lifted. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the District of North Vancouver Animal Shelter (dnv.org)
