Born in Vancouver to Burton and Margaret (predeceased) and married to Lori for 5 glorious years with their feline daughters, Ella and Digit.
Barry is lovingly remembered by his sister Betsy Reilly (Don), nephew Shayne, niece Ashley and the many wonderful Beet family members.
He is also, survived by his father-in-law John Erickson (Charlotte); sister-in-law Helaine Shepard (Curt) and nieces Taylor and Kate; sister-in-law Tass Erickson (James) and niece Kerstin (Pete); brother-in-law Mike Erickson (Karen) and niece Nicole.
Noramco and his many friends and colleagues in the Wire and Cable Industry were very special to him and played a huge role in his life, both here and in Dubai.
Barry’s signature will forever be his wicked sense of humour, his huge heart and his ability to make everyone laugh.
Barry was enthusiastic to hit the green with his buddies, eager to place his next bet on Monday Night Football, loved his BBQ with a cold one by his side, but most of all he was happiest with his wife Lori and their furry daughters.
The family wishes to thank the care teams at Lions Gate Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Crossen.
We loved you yesterday, we love you today, and we’ll love you tomorrow.
Barry will always play a major ‘BEET’ in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC Cancer Agency or the SPCA.
A Celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish, 2337 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver.
