With heavy hearts and sweet remembrance, we sadly announce the passing of Charlotte Buckham.
Charlotte was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan to Jean-Baptiste Tisseur and Alvine Rhéaume. The ninth child, she was predeceased by her two brothers and eight sisters; and her husband Donald, of 49 years. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Yvonne and Catherine (Walt), grandchildren Samuel and Katie, nieces/nephews, and friends.
Charlotte’s family moved to Vancouver in 1937 where she attended St. Patrick and Little Flower Academy schools. In her youth, Charlotte studied violin and her passion for classical music was a lifelong enjoyment.
In 1956 she married Donald, and they built a home in West Vancouver near Lighthouse Park. Mom was a homemaker for many years. Her ‘green thumb’ really blossomed tending her large garden which was her pride and joy. She was a good cook and hosted many dinner parties. Christmas was Mom’s favorite time of year – decorating, baking, carol singing, and visiting. Her math and bookkeeping skills proved invaluable at managing the household finances and at her jobs with Guaranty Trust and the Provincial Court office.
The family took annual summer vacations to the Shuswap and she travelled abroad to, the United States, Mexico, and Europe.
She was happy, fun-loving, and friendly spreading her cheery disposition, with a smile, to everyone she met.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to her primary doctors – Dr. Smith and Dr. Sebba and caregivers from Inglewood Care Center, Amica, and Nurse Next door.
In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM, a service and reception will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 599 Keith Road, West Vancouver.
