May 4, 1934 - June 17, 2016
Dean passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Evergreen House in North Vancouver, where he had resided for the past five years. At the age of 82, Dean was predeceased by his wife Deanna Koch (nee Schofield) of 26 years and survived by his children, Douglas (Marie) Koch; Brian (Zuzana) Koch; Diane (Eric) Akelaitis; Alison Koch and eight grandchildren. Retired from Air Canada in 1986 after nearly 33 years service, Dean flew the DC-3, North Star,
Super Constellation, Viscount, Vanguard, DC-8, B-747, L-1011. Dean spent his summers cruising the West Coast on the boat he built; his life-long passion. In the winters they lived in Barbados enjoying their many friends. With
his dry sense of humour and quick wit, Dean will be dearly missed by his family and friends from here to the Caribbean. By request there will be no service. An intimate celebration of life will take place at a later date.
