Emily Mary Wakelyn Bull was a phenomenal woman. A determined business woman, sportswoman, mother and grandmother she lived a dynamic life. Born in Calgary in 1923, she lived most of her childhood in Cadboro Bay, Victoria with her parents, Edwin and Mary and her siblings Lily, Edwina, Doug, Dave and Jeanette. She lived an outdoor life with swimming, boating, golfing, tennis, skiing, curling and horseback riding. Moving to Vancouver to work with Clarkson Simpson Automobiles, she met and married John David Bull and began a new career in construction of homes and apartments. With their children Susan, David and Edwin (deceased), building a home with a tennis court and pool allowed Emily to continue her athletic life. A winning Hollyburn club tennis and curling team member, Emily also took up cross country skiing, snowmobiling and riding her beloved horse Pumpkin at the 108 ranch home. Later in life as a widow she enjoyed her waterfront homes in Schooner Cove and her seawall condo. She loved to garden, row her dingy and gaze at the sea from her various properties. She enjoyed spending time teaching her grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Katie and Grace, a variety of sports. Her children Susan and David and their spouses Brian and Joanne would like to thank the Kiwanis Care Home and her caregivers Tereza and Zen along with Jennifer and Barb for all their wonderful support and priceless care of Emily. She passed quietly away in her sleep in her 90th year on September 14. She lived a dynamic life until the journey was over.
