

Francis James (Jim) Pine. Born January 9th 1923 in Bridgwater, England, died at home in West Vancouver, July 3rd 2011. Served in the Royal Navy during World War Two, and after the war qualified in electrical engineering at the University of Bristol. Married Enid Scholfield in 1949, with whom he had two daughters. In 1957, immigrated to British Columbia to become the site engineer on the Peace River Dam Project; later, he worked for the English Electric Company and then for GEC Canada, where he became Vice President.
Survived by Enid, his wife of 62 years, their daughters Marjorie and Frances, grandchildren Jesse and Ania, and great-grandchildren Dusan and Milan. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club on Monday, 18th July, 5-7 pm.
