May 9, 1928 to November 3, 2021
With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of George on the morning of November 3, 2021 at home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all and he is now back together with June to continue their wonderful journey. His humour and love will be missed by children Michael (Hilary) and Mary Ellen (Ryan), grand children Connor and Cody, nephews and nieces, Doug, Michael, Rob, Dan, Pam, Glynnis, Danette and Janine, dear friends the Teathers, Nottes, Metcalfes, Fords and O’Learys and numerous other friends and family. George was preceded in passing by his wife June, sisters Shirley and Vern and the family dog Lucy (6 hours earlier). George was born in Vancouver and grew up in the West End. He attended Vancouver College, UBC (where he met June) and McGill dental school graduating in 1956. George had a successful dental practice in Burnaby where his career touched many people and families. He had a great love for sailing and always enjoyed the wonderful natural beauty of British Columbia. In retirement, George enjoyed painting and travel adventures with June. They spent many years in Kailua, Kona where they shared their retirement with dear friends and their door was always open for visitors. The family wishes to thank those who were so helpful and supportive during the last few weeks. A private event will be held in the future.
Dad, you were a wonderful father and you will always be remembered for your sense of humour, patience, loyalty and kindness.
