Passed away quietly on February 7, 2013 at the age of 88 after fighting cancer, off and on, for several years. Harold was born of Norwegian and Swedish stock in Starbuck, Manitoba where he grew up on the family farm along with his six brothers and sisters. As an adult he continued to work on the farm, but in 1965, at age 40, he moved with his wife and three children to British Columbia in order to offer greater opportunities to his family. He settled in Burnaby where he trained and worked as a real estate agent, then as a builder, and ultimately found his niche as a developer, mainly of commercial properties. He remained active in business, and in his church, until the time of his death. He was predeceased by his son Ronald/Nathan and is survived by his daughters Sheila (Robert) and Linda (Peter), and will be missed by his many friends.
“Miss me a little, but not too long. And not with head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, miss me, but let me go.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the BC Cancer Agency. For those wishing to share a memory of Herold, please go to www.hollyburnfunerals.com
