Amica, West Vancouver.
She was born in McBride, BC on May 18th, 1926,
the only daughter of Emma and Otto Johnson.
After completing her education, she moved to
Vancouver where she met Ascher and they
married in 1947. The two of them also started their
own business and grew it together until they decided
to retire and enjoy the fruits of their labour in 1983.
Irene loved to spend time in her gardens and was
an avid swimmer. She enjoyed a healthy lifestyle
and was a very kind and generous person who
inspired most of the people that met her with her
positive outlook on life.
She was predeceased by her daughter Elaine in
2007, and her husband Ascher of 61 years in 2008.
She is survived by her eldest son Allen and her
other son Gordon ( Debbie ) , as w e l l as
grandchildren Amanda, Jonathan, Fraser, Trevor,
Megan, and Jacob who will all miss her wisdom
and advice immensely. She also had 4 great
grandchildren.
