Mary was one of the first people to welcome us at the parish and she has left such a legacy of love and kindness behind her. We will never forget her graciousness or her smile that lit up her whole face. The phrase, "well done thou good and faithful servant" is so apt when talking about all that your Mom has done and left for future generations. We keep you all in our prayers during this time and thank God for having brought her into our lives.

Your Mom was a great spirit and light within our parish and CWL council. We are grateful to God for her guidance, leadership and endless love that she shared. We keep you all in our prayers in the coming days and months ahead and we will never forget the beautiful soul that was Mary Kitchen. 
Eternal rest grant unto her Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her.

Mary and her family touched my life and the life of my family in so many ways. I feel so privileged to have known her and to have been loved by her. Every time I make her Butterhorn recipe a flood of happy memories occur.  Bunny, Margie, Pat, Kit, and Bill -- I'm so glad your Mom was on the St. Anthony's welcoming committee when we moved to West Van all those years ago!  Love, Alida.

Mary was one of the most upbeat positive cheerful people I have ever met; and she took me in for a summer in my teens where I got to watch an amazing family love and laugh together. She seemed to have boundless energy and time for everyone, and I never heard an impatient or unkind word from her to anyone. And she stayed in touch with her wonderful Christmas letters all these years. May she rest in peace and may her big wonderful family be comforted by happy memories of her. One funny piece of advice I remember:  she said if she was tempted to eat between meals she'd just brush her teeth, and the urge would go away.
