Olive Pitman (neé McNally) was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She left school after grade 10 to move to Montreal, Quebec where she met her lifelong friend Freda. Olive and Freda backpacked around Europe before returning to Montreal where Olive met her future husband Reginald at a jazz club. After Olive and Reg married, they had two children, Colleen and Douglas, before moving across the country to North Vancouver, British Columbia in the early 1970s. Olive and Reg remained married until Reg passed away in 1997. Olive worked part-time as a dance instructor, but her love of dance remained long after she retired. She also had a lifelong love of fitness and was an avid hiker, cross-country skier, biker, and gym goer until suffering a stroke in 2014. Olive passed away after a severe stroke on January 21, 2021. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed by one and all.
