Mrs. Patricia Ann Hinkson

1947 - 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Hinkson (Pat, Auntie Pat, Nan). Pat died peacefully in the Lions Gate Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday May 27. She is predeceased by her parents Grace and Francis ‘Bing’ Miller and her dear friend Patty McEachnie. Pat is survived by her husband Chris, daughters Simonne (Grant), Cheryl (Will), son Michael (Jill) and her adored grandchildren, Michael, Joe, Christina, Nick, Frances, Eleanor and Callan. Also missing her are her brother Dick (Elaine), sisters Mary and Jacquie, nephew Matthew, and Chris’ children Tim (Charlotte), Stacey (Shahram), Chelsea (Will). Pat was born in Portland, Oregon where her father was posted in service to the American Bureau of Shipping. But Pat was a true West Van girl. After arriving as a young child, she never left, creating loving family homes on Sentinel Hill, Ambleside, Caulfeild and Eagle Harbour. She and Chris travelled the world, enjoyed fine meals and the company of many good friends, including Judy and Joe. She had a fighting spirit and loved sports - her hero was Bobby Orr #4. She loved animals, birds, flowers. But she lived for her children and grandchildren. Her kindness was felt and will be remembered by so many. The family would like to thank her dear friends Phil and Rose, Deb, Gerry, and also Victoria and Esther and the palliative home care nurses and 7 west nurses for their kind support and care through this very difficult time. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 6, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Parish, 2337 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C.
