

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Jury (nee Sterndale-Bennett), of West Vancouver. Patricia passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2024, at the age of 93. Patricia is pre-deceased by her husband Rae Jury, mother Aldra Sterndale-Bennett (nee Meers), father Michael Sterndale-Bennett, and sister-in-law Lois Sterndale-Bennett (nee Reid) She is survived by her daughter Louise Jury, son Michael Jury, daughter-in-law Meighan Jury, grandson Logan Jury, granddaughter Taylor Jury, brother John-Sterndale-Bennett, niece Kaitlin Sterndale-Bennett, and nephew Richard Sterndale-Bennett. Including extended family in England.
Born in Lethbridge, Alberta on December 29th, 1930, Patricia grew up moving frequently for her father's work in small mining towns across Canada. Some of her fondest memories are of her childhood in Noranda, Quebec.
Patricia graduated from nursing at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. She went on to work in various small-town hospitals before meeting her husband Rae in 1960. Settling in West Vancouver in 1965. Patricia and Rae were married on her birthday in 1964 at the Christ Church Cathedral Chapel, in Vancouver, BC.
As a 60 year resident of West Vancouver, Patricia was an active member of the community. She volunteered with several organizations such as Vancouver Mining Women, the Britannia Mining Museum, Girl Guides of Canada, St. Francis-in-the-Woods Anglican Church and the Ferry Building Art Gallery. An avid water colour painter and pianist herself, Patrica was a lifelong patron of the arts.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the BC Cancer Foundation are appreciated.
The family will hold a small private ceremony in the memorial garden of the St. Francis-in-the-Woods Anglican Church, where Patricia and Rae will rest in peace together.
