Patricia Margaret Christina Olson

Patricia (Pat) Olson passed away quietly on January 17th 2022 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. She was born 1931 in Marmora, Ontario, as the second of seven children born to her Irish parents, Anna and Vincent Lynch. She trained and practiced as a Registered Nurse at Toronto’s Sick Kids, and then moved west and onto the ICU for newborns at Vancouver’s Grace Hospital - known today as BC Women’s. Patricia is survived in her birth family by sister Anna (Jim) Cosgrove, Vince (Joy) Lynch, and Keith Lynch. Patricia was predeceased in 2014 by Barry Lakevold Olson, her husband of 57 years. They had a loving relationship raising a family and enjoying life together sailing and travelling the world. Patricia and Barry raised their three sons, John (Kim), Peter (Penny) and Michael (Katherine) Olson in Vancouver. Patricia was the proud grandmother to six grandkids: Nicholas, Jacqueline, Michelle, Erika, Luke, and Ethan. Our family thanks the many nurses, care aids and doctors in the hospital, and at Amica West Van for their care over the years. Our gratitude is deep. Patricia was always happy to be included in the spiritual family at St. Anthony’s Church in West Vancouver. The love and care from Beattrice and others in their outreach was a gift. Mass of Christian Burial offered at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 am on February 8th, followed by Interment at Forest Lawn.
