Born in what was then Yugoslavia in 1945, Radmila was a woman of ambition and a sharp mind, following in the footsteps of her diplomat father Dusan and professor of law mother Smilja. She took the bold step of moving to Canada in the 1960s to pursue her further university studies, where she was the only female in her Electrical Engineering class at the University of British Columbia. There, she met the love of her life - her husband George -whom she married on December 27, 1969. In 1971 they had their first child, Nicholas, followed by Alex in 1973.
Radmila was a pillar of strength, warmth, and wisdom for those she loved. She is survived by, her husband George Ionides, sister Dragana, children Nicholas and Alex, daughters-in-law Vivian and Silke, and grandchildren Alayna and Sammy.
Radmila will be remembered for her resilience, her elegance and her kind spirit through which she changed the lives of many. Always the life of every party, the belle of every ball, her grace and smile would light up the room. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
