Mrs. Thora Geddes Griffith

September 13, 1922 - February 5, 2016

Suddenly but peacefully in Lynn Valley Care Centre at the age of 93. Thora waspredeceased by her husband Ken in 1994.

Thora is survived by her sons, Ken (Dianne), Kevin (Donna); her grandchildren Deryl (Stephanie) Griffith, Vikki (Dennis) Kazakoff,

Krystal Griffith and Bruno Huard, and Kimberly (Fred) Moore. Thora is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Madison

Griffith, Clarissa and Alexander Kazakoff of North Vancouver and Alexa and Jarred Moore and Kally, Kloey and Kyana Huard of St.

Anicet, Quebec, as well as nieces and nephews in Eastern Canada. Thora was born and raised in Huntingdon, Quebec and was

predeceased by her 6 siblings. Thora and Ken moved from Montreal to Vancouver in 1982 when Ken retired and they enjoyed their new life out west. Thora was a dear lady who enjoyed her family, friends and the odd glass of wine! After Ken passed away, she was a real trooper and lived her life to the fullest - keeping their apartment, walking and shopping Lonsdale, then moving into

Summerhill, a retirement complex she loved, with her little dog Honey. When she could no longer take care of herself (after 46+ years with MS), she was admitted to Lynn Valley Care Centre - where she received the best care and was so well taken care of. She enjoyed her "suite" and most of all, her balcony! Thank you to all the staff there - she loved all of you and her last days were very comfortable and peaceful! We would especially like to thank Evelyn, Sheila, Tess and Cate for their compassionate care of

Thora during her final hours. The family would like to thank our dear friend Wendy (Pat) Nevison (aka Wilma), who devotedly

visited Thora twice a week; along with Thora's niece Sonja (Pat) Guay; another dear friend Maureen (Richard) Cober; as well as

her grandson Deryl and granddaughter Vikki and their families with their regular visits. Private service will be held in May. The family

would appreciate a donation to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or Canuck Place in lieu of flowers in Thora's memory, if desired.
