June 5, 1946 – January 10, 2021
Valerie was born in Montreal and died in North Vancouver. She is survived by her father Alan Glassock, many cousins across Canada, and close friend Verni Brown who was a great help in the last few years. She was predeceased by her mother Phyllis Stride Glassock. Valerie had a very strong love of trains, and she travelled to and from Montreal by rail over 25 times. Despite her deafness, Valerie lived on her own in the West End for 40 years. She moved into a residential care facility in 2018 because of increasing medical problems. Valerie’s cremated remains will be put into a “train-theme” urn and placed in a niche in the Memorial Garden at the West Coast Heritage Railway Park in Squamish.
