

He was born in Lake Charles, LA but lived in Westlake for the past 34 years. He was an electrical engineer and had last worked for Sasol. He taught flying in both fixed wing and rotor craft and loved anything electrical. An accomplishment of his was winning the Calcasieu Parish Science Fair 7 years in a row and that eventually took him to the Seattle World’s Fair in Seattle, WA. He was a devoted family man and loved his wife and daughter along with his two granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Karla McGowan; a daughter, Emerald Lemmons and husband Eric of Abilene, TX; two granddaughters, Lily and Zara.
His service will be at 10:00am, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Brothers Craig Peters and Ira Fontenot will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00-9:00pm and resume on Saturday from 8:00am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Millport Cemetery in Millport, AL.
