Annette LeJeune Trahan passed away on July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 27, 1935, to Evelia and Elis LeJeune, Annette was raised in Hathaway, Louisiana, and graduated from Marion High School. She was a longtime resident of Westlake, Louisiana, and a faithful parishioner of St. John Bosco Catholic Church.
Annette dedicated much of her life to serving others through her church and community. She was a member of the St. John Bosco choir, Friday morning rosary group, Catholic Daughters, altar society, and served as a Eucharistic minister. She worked as a certified reflexologist, sign language interpreter, employee of Walgreens for 13 years, telephone operator at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for 32 years, and owner of the Korner Koffee Shop café in Sulphur.
Annette loved gardening and raising animals, especially goats, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, donkeys, and peacocks. As a testament to her faith, Annette made homemade rosaries from the Job’s Tears she grew in her garden. Above all, she will be remembered for the love and devotion she showed her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Pollard Johnson; grandchildren Sherry Dattola, Gary (Brandy), Angela, Philmer “Joe” III, Catherine, and Victoria Johnson; great-grandchildren Jennifer Woodley, Aime (Keevon) Bell, Stephen, Caleb, Caitie, Justin, Tyler, Tristen (Caitlyn), Mya, Owen, Blaan, and Lilly Johnson, Kiley, Dylan, and Collin Dattola; as well as 15 great-great-grandchildren, with number 16 on the way. She also has a sister-in-law, Betty LeJeune; and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Agnes Moreau, Sidney and Edward LeJeune; son-in-law Philmer Johnson, Jr.; great-grandson Xane Johnson; and several beloved family members.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Villa Maria, Lake Charles Care Center, and Brighton Bridge Hospice for their care and compassion.
The family of Annette will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 5pm for visitation until 8pm with a rosary to be recited at 6pm.
Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 9:30 am until procession to St. John Bosco for Mass led by Father Michael Caraway at 10:30 am. Father Gilbeau will be present to interpret services using ASL.
Burial will be held at Westlake Memorial.
The family would like to invite those in attendance to the Freedom Hall at 1000 National Drive in Westlake, LA, for fellowship.
