She passed from this life at the age of 93 years and 8 months in to eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ on September 3, 2020.
There will be a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, Louisiana on Sunday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m.
Betty married the love of her life, Wayne Johnson on December 28, 1945. They made their home and raised their children in Westlake, LA.
She had the gift of encouragement and shared it abundantly with all she came in contact with. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Westlake for 70 years where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was also WMU President. Betty had a heart for missions. She especially loved and supported the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missionaries.
She also loved to fish and take day trips sightseeing the outdoors. She never tired of either.
Betty is survived by her son, Rodney Johnson and wife Allyson of Hornbeck, LA and her daughter, Linda Hicks and husband Jack of Sulphur, LA; Her Grandsons: Mike Johnson and wife ToniAn of Sulphur, LA, Travis Johnson of Austin, TX, Steven Johnson and wife Eva of Westlake, LA and Cameron Hicks and wife Brittney of Sulphur, LA; Granddaughters: Chere Monteleone and husband Donald of Ponchatoula, LA; Brandi Corley and husband Joshua of Hornbeck, LA. Great grandchildren: Alexa, Sierra, Kailey, Landen, Shade, Bowen, Brayden, Lauryn and Donald.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward C. Eason and Susie E. Eason, her loving husband, Wayne J. Johnson, her son Ward W. Johnson and sister, Myrna Fleming and her brother-in-law, Charles Fleming.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Special thanks to Jeff Johnson and the best staff in the world at The Woodlands Healthcare in Leesville, Louisiana. There are too many wonderful people to name. Especially those who served on Hall 4. And also, special thanks to Joan Snell and Linda Cole for their love and care.
Betty touched so many in her life. She would want all to know her Jesus.
Mrs. Betty will be laid to rest at Westlake Magnolia Cemetery on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
