David was known as Frenchie to most. He was a registered coon ass, keeping Cajun at the heart of everything. Jack of all, master of most, he loved everything from welding to woodworking, taking up a special passion for designing and building custom pallet wood furniture. An outgoing, good-humored and charismatic man by nature, David made friends everywhere he went, from doctors to UPS men, to football hall-of-famers, mostly through the love of music and drumming. He spent most of his time with his family, cooking delicious and sometimes unique meals, cracking endless jokes and entertaining them with his comedy acts and rock and roll drum solos. Even with such a large branch of family and friends, once David was introduced into your life, chances are you were stuck with him for the long haul. For all those he crossed paths with, he will be deeply missed and the countless memories will be kept alive and cherished for the rest of our time.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Currel and Rose Mae Quebodeaux Cart, a brother, Merlin Lee Cart, and a sister, Brenda Cart Orgeron and her husband, Richard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Tamara Tingle Cart; three children, Brittney Cart, Brendan Cart (Ella Mae), and Kayla Cart (Kolby); 5 grandchildren, Sophia, Jonah, Thea, Ophelia, Elizabeth, and twin girl and boy on the way; brothers, Ronald Cart (Delores), Carl Cart (Angie), Byron Cart (Ferdette), and Samuel Cart (Tiffany); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake with Rev. Jenesh Joseph officiating.
