Doris "Dot" Faye Farris

Mrs. Farris was a homemaker, mother, writer, painter, and quilter, as well as a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Westlake.

Survivors include her two sons, Doug Farris and wife Debra of Sulphur, Louisiana and David Farris and his wife Tanya of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Lee Ann Calhoun and husband Randy of Fort Valley, Georgia, and Laurie Babin and her husband Stuart of Houston, Texas; one sister, Garnet Farris and husband Albert “Bo” Farris of Baker, Louisiana; Sister-in-Law’s, Dorothy Bass and Carolyn Gay Marsh; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jimmie Lee Farris.

Her funeral service will be held at 10a.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Westlake. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Bro. Finers Cryer will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 17, from 5p.m. until 8p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 18, from 9a.m. until the time of service.
