Garland J. "Stick" Guillory

He was born on February 13, 1936 in Sulphur, LA to Sheldon Emile and Renella (Hebert) Guillory. He married Maxine Yarbrough on Oct 27, 1973 in Fort Pierce, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeffrey Guillory and step-father Joe Moss.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Maxine, four children, Vernon James Guillory, Garland Glynn Guillory, David Sheldon Guillory and Julie Elaine Guillory. Also surviving are four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Michael Dean Moss and one sister, Jeraldine “Jerry” Soloman.

Garland worked in construction as a draftsman for many years with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #106 and he was of the protestant faith.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake and will resume at 9 am on Wednesday until the start of service. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Rev. Gene Winkler will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
