

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War for four years. Upon his return to civilian life, he went to work for BellSouth Telephone Company, he belonged to CWA local 3407 Union as a past president and was active until his retirement. He was a long time member of The Pioneers, a volunteer network under The Telephone Pioneers of America, which was founded by Alexander Graham Bell. He was also a member of the Sulphur VFW Post 8107.
He is survived by his three sons, Ricki Doucet of Moss Bluff, Patrick Doucet and wife Kelly of Singer, Mark Doucet of Houston; brother Wilridge Doucet and wife Helen of Westlake; sister Nelda McManus of Westlake; along with nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one on the way, and one great great grandchild. He also leaves behind his morning coffee friends from SPAR-Frash Park.
George is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Doucet; a son, Michael Doucet; brother, Houston Doucet; sister, Vercie Wilkins; along with his parents.
Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 01, 2017 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake with Deacon Fred Reed officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm with a Rosary at 5:00pm and will resume on Friday from 9:00am until the time of the service at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake.
