He was born in 1934 to the late George and Bernice Carpenter. Following high school Bo joined the Coast Guard and proudly served during the Korean War. While stationed in Galveston, he met the love of his life, Mary Bliese in 1955. The two married in 1958 and together had almost 60 years of love and laughter.
He retired from Cities Service and Harbor Docking and Towing. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a Lutheran Braille Worker. Bo was an avid bowler for many years. Bo could often be found sleeping in front of the fireplace that was always burning the wood he loved to split. He loved to share stories with everyone, he loved to be around children and could often be found teasing a smile or laugh from them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Carpenter; Son; Jeffrey and wife Jill Carpenter, Daughter; Susan and husband David Busby, Granddaughter; Sarah Carpenter and Great Grandson; Tony Cauthron, Sisters; Edith ‘Top’ McKinney and Gail Landry, and many extended family members. He is predeceased by his Son; Scott Allen Carpenter, Sister; Jenell Neely, Brother; Edgar Carpenter.
Pallbearers honoring Bo are; Daniel McKinney, Mikel McKinney, Jimmie Neely, Jake Champagne, Brandon Champagne and Felix Navejar. Honorary; David McKinney and Tony Cauthron.
Visitation to be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at St John Lutheran Church, 600 University Drive, Lake Charles, LA. 70605.
