Harold Dale Kerr

A good man, Harold “Dale” Kerr, 77, went to his eternal home on Nov. 21, 2015. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years including 3 missions in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as an electrician out of the IBEW Local 861, retiring in 2000 to become a full-time husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dale enjoyed family, woodwork, hunting and fishing. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist in Sulphur.

His legacy of love he left to cherish his memories include his loving wife, Phyllis Huffman Kerr of Westlake, La; 9 children, Betha Bartholomew (Bob) of Toledo Bend, La., Timothy Bray (Melissa) of Albuquerque, NM., Janice Manuel (Hugh) of Moss Bluff, La., Charles Kerr (Mary) of Pampa, Tx., Kyla Jeffcoats (Scottie) of Reeves, La., Traci Edgerly (Todd) of Groves, Tx., Trudi Chambers (William) of Jasper, Al., Staci Ebarb (Clark) of Kinder, La., Sabra Soileau (David) of Moss Bluff La.;26 grandchildren, Phillip Burleigh, Phyllis Cisneros, Brandi Hebert, Sheila Contrachis, Brandon Bray, Cheyenne Bray, Wane Manuel, Ashley Manuel, Hugh Joseph Manuel, Kristopher Kerr, Chuck Kerr, Kodie Jeffcoats, Kennedy Jeffcoats, Nicole Moreau, Zack Myers, Justin Pierson, Jordan Edgerly, Ashton Chambers, Deja Chambers, Morgan Chambers, Grant Chambers, Treasure Kerr, Skylyn Granger, Mahala Ebarb, Jolie Soileau, J.D. Soileau; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wayne Kerr (Patsy), Ronnie Kerr (Ann), Mike Kerr (Donna); 1 sister, JoAnn Kreimier (Marvin); extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lucille Kerr and a brother, James Kerr.

Funeral services for Harold “Dale” Kerr will be held at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Westlake on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11 am with Brother Lamar Huffman and Brother Larry Huffman officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 24th from 5 – 9 pm and will resume on Wednesday from 9 am until time of service. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Cemetery.
