Howard Douglas Robertson was a gentleman and was also a Gentle man, rarely raising his voice in anger or frustration. Doug was a graduate of Westlake High School and a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam war campaign. After graduating high school he married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Harrison. Their Marriage lasted nearly 60 years, ending only with Carolyn’s death just six months prior to his, and produced two sons Phillip (Phil) and Russell (Rusty).
Doug, as he was known to his friends and family, was a man that could do most anything he set his mind to, even after a stroke that left him a partially paralyzed left hand and a permanent limp. During his life he worked as an industrial painter and an accomplished carpenter. He was a doting husband to his wife Carolyn and father to his sons Phillip (Phil) and Russell (Rusty). Doug also adored his five grandchildren and his nine great grandchildren. Of his many hobbies, deer hunting was the one he cherished most. He spent many happy seasons hunting with his wife’s brothers and cousins along with his sons and grandkids in Homer Louisiana. Doug was loved by many and respected by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Phillip Robertson; grandchildren, Whitney Brooke Robertson Matte, Tyler Douglas Robertson, Claire Stoddard, Alice Marie Stoddard, and Gracie Mae Robertson; great grandchildren, Kamry Matte, Olivia Matte, Harley Courville, Charlee Robertson, Ava Taylor, Sophia Stoddard, and Romy Stoddard; brother, Donald Robertson and wife Sherry; and sister, Diane Robertson Olivier and husband Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Sue Robertson; son, Russell Joseph Robertson and sister, Sharon Manuel.
