

She was a resident of Southwest Louisiana and a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She was a foster grandmother at Westwood Elementary School, a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Bennett Darbonne and wife, Lori of Sulphur, LA, David Tyndell and wife, Lisa of Colorado; daughter, Katrina Picard and husband, Luke of Moss Bluff; brother, Elin "Donald" Culver of Florida; her twin sister, Leona Umphlett of Virginia; grandchildren, Bobby, Kent, Joey, Dustin, Autumn, Wesley, Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Alyssa and Tess; 3 great grandchildren; 5 step children; 11 step grandchildren; 25 step great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Darbonne; sons, Stanley and William Tyndell; parents, Donald and Elenora Culver and 3 sisters.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Pallbearers assisting in her service will be Dustin Darbonne, Kent Horn, Louis Darbonne, Brandon Cormier, Donald Darbonne, and Luke Darbonne. Honorary Pallbearers will be her godmother, Trena Hatch and best friend, Liz Gholer. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake from 6-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. til time of service. Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Mrs. Darbonne’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Odyssey Hospice Team, especially Angel Courville and Lisa Franklin.
