Janelle V. Davis

Westlake- Janelle Erline Vines Davis, 73 passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 from a very short battle with Lung cancer- diagnosed on Monday and lost her fight on Friday. She also suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years. Janelle passed in her home with family and close friends surrounding her with love.

Janelle was born July 25, 1940 to Hoyt and Aileen Vines. She lived in Westlake until she met and married the love of her life, James P. Davis. They were married for 49 years and lived in Midland, TX until his death in 2010. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved cooking and sewing for her grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Julie Horne of Westlake, LA and James Davis of Galveston, TX; her four adorable grandchildren, Erin Horne, Austin Horne, Haley Horne all of Westlake, LA and Bayly Davis of Lake Jackson TX; a twin sister, Janette Cochran of Westlake; a brother, Dr. Richard Vines and wife, Joy of Monroe, LA; two brother-in-laws, Dr. Larry Davis and wife, Joan and Rob Davis all of Chattanooga, TN; Numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James P. Davis; parents, Hoyt and Aileen Vines; one brother, Donald Vines; one sister, Frances Hopkins; one brother-in-law, James Cochran.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake, LA at 2pm Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
