June 4, 1933 – May 4, 2020
Janet Grundmann, 86 of Westlake went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Janet was born on June 4, 1933 to Joseph and Mabel Vallery in Alexandria, LA and was one of eleven children.
Janet met and married Edward "Fred" Grundmann, together they raised four children, making Westlake their home. She had many loves in her life; her faith, her family and fishing-especially in that order. Her and Edward often enjoyed trips to Toledo Bend where they would fish from sunrise to sunset working towards that perfect tone of sun kissed skin. Once they children came along she continued the tradition of trips to Toledo, even after she graduated to the title of "MawMaw". MawMaw taught them to fish, patience and humility through her family fishing tournaments.
If she wasn't found dockside you could find her at the flea-markets, walking the aisles paying close attention to those deals "you just couldn't pass up". She always made sure to take the biggest vehicle so she would never have to worry about "how am I getting this home"?
Janet lived a long and happy life, upon passing she was welcomed into Heaven by who mattered most to her; Family. Those there were her husband of 60+ years, a son; Eddie Grundmann Jr. a daughter Wanda Brown, her parents and siblings.
Those left to cast a lure in her memory are two sons, Tim Grundmann and Mark Grundmann, numerous grandchildren and great grand children and two sisters.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, LA. We invite you to sign her digital register book, submit a favorite memory or sentiment of condolences on our website www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
