Joyce Mae Gray, age 89, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday June 12, 2018. Joyce was born February 9, 1929 to Alfred "Fred" Vaussine and Cecelia Landry Vaussine. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and also graduated from Elliot Business College. In 1949 Joyce married Clayton James Gray and raised two children in Westlake LA. She was a Secretary for Conoco and retired after 30 years of dedicated employment. She liked to hunt, and fish with her husband and son. In her later years she enjoyed going to the casino to play slots. She was a member of St. John Bosco and the ladies KC Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, of 68 years; sister, Leona Peveto.
Joyce is survived by her son, Clayton P. Gray of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Sharon R. Moses and husband Billy of Moss Bluff, LA; brothers, Edward Vaussine and wife Rosemary of Kinder LA, Roy Vaussine of Sulphur, LA; sisters, Bernice Davis and husband Vernon of Sulphur LA, Theresa Adams of Forsythe MO; grandchildren, Renee VanCleve and husband Todd of Rockville TN, Jeremy Moses and wife Amanda of Mayflower AR; great- grandchildren, Blaine Moses of Conway, AR and Gage Moses of Ragley, LA.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 15, 2018 from the hours of 4-8pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Visitation will resume Saturday June 16, at 8am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church Saturday June 16, at 10am.
