Born October 11, 1949, Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Tia, aunt, and dear friend to many. She was a kind, compassionate, and radiant soul—an “earth angel” and mighty prayer warrior who offered words of encouragement, heartfelt prayers, and endless love to everyone she met.
Karen loved to laugh and never missed a chance to share a warm hug. A gifted journal keeper, she filled countless pages with her colorful thoughts and faithful prayers. Her crystal-blue eyes reflected the joy and peace of a life lived for God and others.
She now rejoices in Heaven, reunited with her husband, Bobby Goodeaux; her son, Marc Goodeaux; her brother Chris Murray, her parents, and many more who welcomed her home before us.
Karen’s legacy of love continues through her family: her sons, Glenn Goodeaux (Cindi) and Chris Goodeaux; her grandchildren, Michael Goodeaux (Hannah) and Zoey Goodeaux; her great-grandchildren, Ember and Caspian Goodeaux; and her sisters, Lynn Wheeler and Judy Kimball.
A faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene in Lake Charles, Karen blessed her church family with her gentle spirit and steadfast faith.
Though we rejoice in her homegoing, we will deeply miss her presence. She will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, her laughter, and her unwavering love. We thank God for the gift of her life and the time He allowed us to share with her.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake. Her Homegoing service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Hoffpauir officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Westlake.
