Kate was a dedicated pioneer member of the Methodist church in Westlake, Louisiana. She was a member of United Methodist Women, and was proud of being a Communion Steward for 25 years.
Kate was often found at local nursing homes visiting with the elderly or acknowledging the sick at area hospitals and in their homes. She spent time bringing those who were unable to drive to doctors' appointments, supermarkets, and pharmacies. She once said, "I love God, and if you love someone you'll do anything for him. I'd like to do things for him because he has done so much for me."
