

Westlake- Marian Kelley Klepzig, 93, of Westlake went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Marian was born June 29, 1920, in Kellyville, OK, to John Henry Kelley and Dicy Hamon Kelley. She was raised with her three older brothers and two younger sisters in Chickasha, OK. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1938, and married Charles W. Klepzig on her birthday in 1940, in Westlake, LA. They lived in Westlake until his death in 2011, after 71 years of marriage. They had four sons, and were faithful members of Westlake First Baptist, Westwood Baptist, and Lake Charles First Baptist churches, where she served as teacher, choir member, Women’s Missionary Union member, and on various committees over the years. Marian was an accomplished cook/baker and seamstress, and enjoyed RV camping, square dancing, gardening, painting, traveling, and the company of her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an active volunteer with the St. Patrick’s Hospital Mended Hearts Program, and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. Although she was primarily a homemaker, she was the first paid staff member of the Cities Service Credit Union. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Dicy Kelley, and her siblings Irving, Earl, Floyd, and Maureen. She is survived by her sister Jean of Bridgeport, TX, her four sons, Charles Henry of Sulphur, Kelley Robert (Dixie) of Moss Bluff, James Dale (Katie) of Lake Charles, and John Eugene (Marty) of Lake Charles. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Doug, Kelley, Kevin, and Jennifer, and nine great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 21, at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake. Rev. Wayne McEntire will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Park in Westlake.
