

Pat was born on St. Patrick’s day in 1930 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, LA to parents Roderick Paul Hawkins and Thelma Lucy Guillory of Westlake, LA. She spent her childhood as a native of Westlake, LA where she graduated from Westlake High. Pat married Jesse Adam Gillard in 1957 and were married for 65 years and moved from the Westlake area where they traveled extensively while Jesse was in the Air Force. She was a woman of many hobbies, which included: Sewing, Crocheting and knitting. She also was a tireless and active volunteer in Our Lady of LaSalette in Kirbyville, TX. Pat was a loving wife and mother. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Newton Eagle football fan.
There is a lot to be said about Pat, but what anyone who has ever come in contact with her would say is that they were immediately drawn to her. Pat had a welcoming demeanor that meant no one was a stranger. She had a smile and a twinkle in her eye that would light up any room. She was so dearly loved by so many and she, in kind, returned that love in full. She was a faithful servant of God and shared that faith with others.
She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, sister; Gwen Hollingsworth, and daughters; Mary Catherine Gillard and Monica Lynn Gillard.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Jesse Adam Gillard, Sister; Jeanette Mitterlehner, children; Patrick Bernard Hardey, Janet Marie Phelps (Phil), Marsha Ann Daniel, Roderick Kirk Gillard (Cheryl), David Wayne Gillard (Melanie), James Michael Gillard, Charles Stephen Gillard, Suzy Gillard Trahan (Stevie), Melissa Kay Dunn (Eric), 28 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Hixson Westlake funeral home on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume at Hixson Westlake on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 8:00am.
Services will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church following visitation on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Westlake Magnolia Cemetery.
