Mary Jo Schroeder

She was born on November 17, 1943, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to George and Iris Wethey.

Mary Jo had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Schroeder and wife Kim; grandchildren, Hailey Barrow, Heidi Minervini and husband Jordan, and Halle Schroeder; and great-grandchildren, Myla, Madyn, and Mack Barrow, and Harper Minervini, as well as her close friend, Laurie Comeaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Schroeder, her siblings, Roy Duboise, Joyce Jemison, and Sue Stevens, and her granddaughter, Hannah Schroeder.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10am until 1pm. Funeral services officiated by Reverend Oliver McGuire will begin at 1pm. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery of Westlake.
